The Oklahoma Legislative Black Caucus proudly presents its biennial A.C. Hamlin Scholarship Gala, a prestigious event that honors the legacy of Oklahoma's first African-American legislator while raising critical scholarship funds for students attending Langston University, Oklahoma's only Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Named after political trailblazer A.C. Hamlin, the first Black member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, this gala celebrates his enduring legacy of civil rights advocacy and
commitment to economic justice. All proceeds from this distinguished evening directly benefit academic scholarships for deserving Langston University students.
About A.C. Hamlin
A.C. Hamlin was an exceptional leader who fought for civil rights and economic justice as Oklahoma's first African-American legislator. His pioneering spirit and dedication to the public Service broke barriers and paved the way for future generations of leaders.

About The Oklahoma Legislative Black Caucus
Legislative Black Caucus (OLBC) is comprised of African American members of The Oklahoma State Legislature is dedicated to advocating for policy and legislation that benefits Black citizens and other marginalized communities. The OLBC works to promote equality,opportunity, and access while influencing legislation to address issues affecting Black Oklahomans and ensuring their representation and rights are protected. With a focus on education, public safety, and economic development, the caucus strives to address disparities and promote positive change throughout Oklahoma.
